Apex College inaugurated the Workshop in Microfinance In Action as a part of the Students’ Exchange Program 2016 with University of Padova, Italy. Under the program, eight students from Padova University of Italy led by professor Alberto Lanzavecchia, Phd have arrived in Kathmandu who will be engaged in the workshop being held at Apex College. The workshop started on 26th September and will end on 30 September, 2016. After then, the students will be engaged in field visits and understand microfinance in the Nepalese market, primarily in the western region of Nepal.
The inauguration of the program was held in Apex College where Mr. Krishna Bahadur Manandhar, former Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank was the Chief Guest. He addressed the students of Apex College and University of Padova highlighting the need of Nepalese micro finance institutions to penetrate the Himalayan region. Also present in the program were Mr. Bhoj Raj Bashyal, deputy General Manager of Nirdhan Utthan Bank, Mr, LP Bhanu Sharma, faculty members and students of Apex College.
This is the second time Apex College and Padova University have collaborated for a student exchange program and conducted workshop on Microfinance in Action. Four meritorious students of Apex College will now receive scholarships from the European Union under the initiation of University of Padova for similar kind of student exchange program.
