Apex Computing Center (ACC)

acc-labThe Apex Computing Center (ACC) forms an important component of infrastructure at Apex College, providing a wide spectrum of services to the students as well as faculty and staff involved in research and other academic activities.
All students have various IT related papers in their courses. The ACC provides the support for them to have a practical feel of what they learn in the classrooms and enhance their computer skills. The ACC also supports project works undertaken in the BCIS program.

The ACC comprises of seven laboratories (of the BCIS program), including Digital systems, Microprocessor and Computer Network labs, housing approximately 150 computers having the very latest configuration. The wide range of software includes C, C++, Java, Oracle AutoCAD, MATLAB, Macromedia Flash, 3-D Studio Max, Photoshop, Prolog, SPSS, etc. All systems are networked and anyone occupying a terminal can access resources available on the network, barring security restrictions. Students also learn how to harness the capabilities of a network.

A special place of pride in the ACC is the recognition from Educational Testing Service (ETS), USA. ACC includes Certified Internet-Based TOEFL Test Administration Center (iBT-Test) of ETS, USA since 2006. Students willing to take their TOEFL tests can register with the College and take their internet-based tests at the college.

The Apex Library serves as a model of an evolving and dynamic facility in teaching learning since 2000 AD. The library, as an established knowledge hub that is conveniently accessible by those associated with the College, has a major contribution in making Apex a top ranked Academic & Research driven institution.

The Library’s collection comprises hybrid resources (Print & Electronic) in the field of management, engineering, travel & tourism, banking & insurance, and other related fields. The Library also has a separate wireless Internet service corners consisting of a number of laptops for providing recent and most comprehensive access to online journals, online databases and other online reference resources to the faculty, students and staff. The library has automated all its routine activities through library management software called “ApexLMS” also extended the scope of various services like database search using accessing number, call number, author, title, publisher.
