With an aim of developing skills for problem identification, situation analysis and decision making, Apex Case Study Club organized 3rd edition of Apex Case Study Program during March 1 to 6. 40 enthusiastic MBA students participated in the program. On the first day, Prof. Dr Binod Krishna Shrestha conducted workshop on case analysis. The participants were involved in building opinion, exchanging perspectives, building ideas, interaction, questions and answers with Dr. Shrestha in the two-hour workshop.
After commenting on their analysis and giving feedback, Shrestha then complimented with his ideas that problem identification, situation analysis, cause and effect analysis, among others are necessary in case analysis. On the second day, the participants analyzed different cases of International Business School and then delivered presentation.
They also visited 6 different organizations to observe real business scenario. After field visit, the participants also prepared a report on issues and problems faced by the organizations. On the third day, entrepreneur and founder of Biruwa Ventures Vidhan Rana shared that prospective entrepreneurs should possess qualities like passion, vision of business, ambitious drive, and ability to learn from mistakes. The participants also involved in exciting treasure hunt game that was won by Team Topaz.
Likewise, the participants performed role play to case scenario on the fourth day. Through acting, the participants exhibited different problems and situations of case scenario. The following day saw analysis of Harvard Business Review Case and presentation by the participants. Through the case analysis, they placed themselves in a role of decision maker. As Team Topaz became winner of the Case Study Program 2017 and bagged prize worth Rs. 20,000, Team Emerald became runners-up and grabbed gift hamper worth Rs. 10,000. Director of Academic Affairs Vinay Kumar Sharma addressed the closing session, while Associate Director of MBA Program Kishore Dhungana handed over certificates to winners, participants, organizers and sponsors of the program.
