Apexians successfully concluded Apex Day 2016—annual mega event of Apex College—with great joy, fun, and excitement on September 17, 2016 at Army Officers’ Club, Sundhara. Organized in association with different student clubs of the college, the event featured dance and music, band performances, musical drama, and poetry reading along with the most awaited Mr. and Ms. Apex contest. Prahil Karki and Prativa Adhikari were awarded Mr. and Ms. Apex titles respectively from among the top twelve contestants. Meanwhile, Hikmat Karki won the Most Popular title as Bhawana Uprety was crowned with the Best Smile title. The judges for the event were Phatik Poudel – Head of Humanities and Social Sciences at Apex College, Actress Sanchita Luitel, Model Ashwini Jha and Samjhana Shakya – Chairperson of NIF. An actor and model Swastika Rajbhandari had choreographed the event. Designed to “Celebrate College Life,” the program—inaugurated by Dr. Minendra Rijal, Chairperson of the college—started with lighting of panas, and national anthem followed by a welcome speech. The venue was full of excited and cheerful audience who rejoiced each and every performance throughout the program. Musical performances, dances, band performance, and different rounds of Mr. and Ms. Apex contest provided full-on entertainment to all the audience and performers, as the organizers also collected a life-long learning experience. The students lit up the hall using their smartphones which showcased students involvement in the event. As many as 1500 people supported and attended the event sponsored by Coca-Cola, Yeti Airlines, Merina Impex, Nepal Institute of Fashion (NIF), Hotel Himalayan Villa, Country Yard Restaurant, Whoopee Land Amusement and Water Park, Majesty Foundation, and Begonia Fashion Boutique.
