Owing to the growing worldwide popularity of e-sports, Nepalis too are gravitating towards games like Valorant, DOTA 2, Apex Legends, and FIFA, among others. With a vision of providing a proper platform for this rising number of e-gamers in Nepal, this year, the Apex IT Club organised the mega gaming event ‘Bizbazar presents Apex Gamers Connect 2022-the biggest inter-college gaming event of its kind in the country. The five-day competition, held from 16-20 June 2022 at the Apex College premises, included an Inter-College Valorant tournament and an Intra-College FIFA 22 tournament.

The Inter-College Valorant tournament saw participating teams from 12 colleges across Nepal. The finalists were Islington College and Softwarica College, with Softwarica College taking home the title of Inter-College Valorant Champions, along with a cash prize of Rs 30,000 and several gift hampers from the event sponsors. Islington College received a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and several gift hampers from the sponsors.

The FIFA 22 tournament featured over 150 students from Apex. Pragyan Chettri and Yaman Vaidya bagged the top prize in the doubles category; Grishma Shrestha defeated Bipshika Bhandari in the finals to take home the Female FIFA crown; and Divij Singh Khadka beat Dhiren Deuja to win the Male FIFA crown.

The event’s title sponsor was BizBazar, and it was powered by Honda Grazia. The associate partner was Wai Wai Pyro, and the gaming partners were Powerplay Gaming and Paradise Gaming. Furthermore, more than two dozen other companies were also involved as partners, in various capacities.

The event, which was a huge success, was managed exceedingly well by the president of the Apex IT Club,
Adarsh Raj Pandey, and the members of the other clubs at Apex.
