Tourism Talk with Turkish Airlines' General Manager

On September 15, as part of the Apex Talks series, the first session of Tourism Talk–a forum for deepening students’ knowledge about the tourism sector and helping them develop networks in the industry–was held at Apex College. The session was conducted by Mr Abdullah Tuncer Kececi, the general manager of Turkish Airlines for Nepal, Nouakchott, Mauritania, and West Africa.
During the session, Mr Kececi delved into how the Nepali tourism sector could address its challenges and how the government of Nepal could increase its revenue from domestic tourism. He said that Nepal should–besides capitalizing on its natural beauty, natural heritage, resources, and landmarks–also figure out how to leverage its social and cultural diversity. Because tourism is of utmost importance in mountain areas, he said, the government should pay greater attention to promoting it there.
The talk was attended by BBA-TT students and others interested in the world of travel and tourism.
