Undergraduate Induction Program

On March 4, Apex College conducted the Undergraduate Induction program at Dhulikhel, Kavrepalanchok, for the incoming Spring Semester students. To provide an introduction regarding the type of learning they would undertake at the college, the freshers were tasked with exploring the Panauti area and conducting design-thinking exercises. As part of the exploratory exercise, the freshers were asked to analyse the study site and come up with appropriate solutions for enhancing tourism, to build prototypes, and to present slides about their strategy. Later, the students participated in a talent-hunt show, which allowed them to showcase their skills and personality to a new audience–the Apex family. On the program’s last day, the participants presented their studies’ findings, and the program’s judge–Deepak Raj Joshi, who is among others, the former CEO of the Nepal Tourism Board and Founding Executive Member of the World Tourism Network–scored them on their effort and provided feedback on improving their research and presentation skills.
